South Street Basketball Academy
A basketball program that grows with our students.
Launching in 2027, the South Street Basketball Academy provides students with a progressive pathway from their first introduction to basketball through to advanced skill development and competitive opportunities.
Developed in partnership with Stadium34 Basketball, the Academy combines expert coaching, inclusive participation and meaningful pathways—all within the school day and completely free for participating families.
Great Opportunities. No Extra Cost.
The South Street Basketball Academy gives our students access to high-quality basketball development without additional program or coaching fees. The Academy is open to students currently enrolled at South Street Primary School, as well as prospective students intending to enrol. Students must be enrolled at South Street to participate in the program.
All Grade 2 students receive an introduction to the Academy, while students in Grades 3–6 that are selected, can progress into more focused development opportunities. Alongside basketball skills, students develop teamwork, confidence, resilience, leadership and commitment.
Students do not need to be experienced basketball players to express their interest. Potential, enthusiasm, commitment and coachability will all be important parts of the selection process.
Free for South Street Students
No Academy fees. No coaching fees. No additional participation costs.
Selected Academy students also receive a South Street Basketball Academy training top and basketball as part of the program.
One Academy. Three Stages.
Our Academy pathway is designed to grow with our students, progressing from an inclusive introduction to basketball through to focused development and aspirational opportunities.

How the Academy Works.
Academy sessions are delivered during the school day through a combination of school-based coaching and specialist experiences at Stadium34. The school will provide transport for Stadium34 visits.
Any activities held outside normal school hours will be communicated to families through a Compass event. Selected Academy students will also receive an Academy training top and basketball at no additional cost.
All Grade 2 students participate in the introductory stage. Places in the Grades 3/4 and Grades 5/6 development groups are limited to a maximum of 15 students in each group.
Selection will consider each student’s enthusiasm, potential, commitment, coachability, behaviour and willingness to participate. Submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee a place.
Selected students are expected to participate positively, consistently and respectfully. Full expectations will be included in the program consent information.
Where expectations are not being met, a student may be placed on a probationary period or removed from the Academy.

Expressions of Interest are open to current South Street students and prospective students intending to enrol from Term 1, 2027. Students must be enrolled at South Street Primary School to participate in the Academy.
